LONDON, 22 JUNE 2026, 08:00 – Bondaval, the fast-growing insurance technology company combining credit risk protection with pioneering software, has appointed Alexia Parmentier as its new Co-Chief Underwriting Officer, joining the business in late June 2026.
Based in London, Parmentier will work alongside Ewa Rose, Group Chief Underwriting Officer, to further strengthen Bondaval’s underwriting discipline, risk governance and market engagement as the business continues to scale internationally.
In this hands-on leadership role, she will work with capacity partners to optimise programme structures and collaborate closely with broking partners to develop new initiatives and opportunities.
As Bondaval continues its strategic development, Parmentier will also lay the risk groundwork for commercial expansion across geographies and product types.
Parmentier joins Bondaval after nearly 14 years at Allianz Trade, where she cofounded the insurer’s excess-of-loss trade credit platform, a highly profitable unit with 9-figure premium income and over 30 underwriters. Before that, she also held roles at AIG, Aon and Hermes Credit Services.
Bondaval has seen extraordinary growth as an innovative entrant to the established market of trade credit insurance. Their technology-driven approach to credit risk protection has seen them win clients from among some of the largest companies in the world, including supermajors like Shell and BP. At the end of 2025, the company also announced their long-term, global partnership with Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, which came into effect on 1st January 2026. This business was also named the #4 fastest growing software company in the UK by the Sunday Times in 2026.
Parmentier is the latest in a series of high-profile hires Bondaval has made in recent months, including Simon Philpin, Group Chief Commercial Officer, who joined Bondaval having previously served as the Director of Trade Credit at Markel. Bondaval has also recently built out their US commercial presence with Ryan Wimberly as Managing Director, Americas and Daniel Hoyt as Head of Commercial Underwriting, Americas, both also joining from Allianz Trade. The business has also expanded into the DACH region this year, with Anke Uebele as Head of Trade Credit and Christoph Dautenheimer as Head of Commercial Underwriting & Development, DACH, formerly of Allianz Trade and Credendo, respectively.
We were looking for someone with the depth of experience to lead in this role, but with the entrepreneurial, builder mindset that we need to deliver new value to the market. We found that in Alexia, and we’re delighted to welcome her to the business. She is a phenomenal fit in both capability and in character.
Alexia brings exceptional experience that will be a vital contributor to our global expansion; I’m thrilled to work alongside her, and partner closely with her to continue developing Bondaval’s ambitious growth strategy.
Bondaval’s energetic, collaborative culture, alongside its genuinely innovative product offering and differentiated approach to the market were key draws for me to join the business. I’m looking forward to partnering with Ewa to further develop and refine our underwriting strategy from its already strong foundations, and ensure underwriting fully leverages Bondaval’s technology capabilities to drive consistency, scalability and portfolio quality.
