LONDON, UK – MON 08 DEC 2025, 12:00 – Bondaval has appointed Ryan Wimberly as its new Managing Director, Americas, to lead its continued growth across the region.
Based in Boston, Wimberly will be responsible for expanding Bondaval’s presence within the United States and Canada, driving all policy and premium growth through critical relationships with brokers, clients and strategic partners.
Partnering closely with Risk, Wimberly will oversee deal structuring, pricing and underwriting for all product lines while maintaining disciplined loss ratios and underwriting governance. To serve an expanding book of business, he will also build a high-calibre local team, while working alongside Product to develop new technology-driven solutions to continually meet client needs.
Wimberly joins following 15 years at Allianz Trade, where he held a variety of senior commercial and executive roles. Most recently, he held the position of SVP, Regional Head of Direct Sales, Bank, and Energy Distribution, responsible for Specialty and Sales functions within the business.
Wimberly joins a growing and highly experienced underwriting team at Bondaval. Ewa Rose, founding underwriter of trade credit at Markel and ACE (now Chubb), serves as Group Chief Underwriting Officer, while Paul Collier, formerly of Centrica and Atradius, leads risk strategy as Group VP Risk Underwriting.
The business also recently welcomed another high-profile hire in Simon Philpin, now in seat as Bondaval’s Group Chief Commercial Underwriting Officer. Philpin previously spent 11 years at Markel, mostly recently as Director of Trade Credit.
In addition to expanding the underwriting leadership, Bondaval has recently signed a global, long-term partnership with Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, combining S&P AA- rated insurance capacity to Bondaval’s technology-focused offering.
I’m very excited to grow the Americas market with Bondaval’s industry-leading technology and recently increased capacity. By partnering closely and building relationships with all key brokers across the region, we will scale the business and the market with it.
The Americas will be a cornerstone of Bondaval’s next chapter, and Ryan is the person to shape our presence there. Responsive and driven, his ambition matches that of Bondaval. We’re excited to see the impact he will make and expect to continue expanding our footprint as we build further momentum.
